The command of Combined Task Force - 151 (CTF-151), operating in the interest of counter-piracy in the Gulf of Aden, Coast of Somalia, Arabian Sea and the adjacent areas under the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), based at Manama/Bahrain, will be assumed by the Turkish Naval Forces at headquarters of TCG GEMLİK (F-492) between 19 September-13 December 2012.

Legitimacy
The legitimacy of counter Piracy Operations is based on the United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1816, 1838, 1846, 1851, 1897 and 1918. Other international agreements such as Suppression on Unlawful Act (SUA), UN Convention on the Law of Sea (UNCLOS) support counter piracy the operations.
