In order to meet Turkish Navy’s operational requirements, the necessity of designing and developing a modern combat management system by utilizing national sources and companies has increased. Subsequently, the project of  manufacturing a highly sophisticated combat management system has been commenced by Turkish Navy in 1999 and the project named as GENESIS. All softwares and hardwares of GENESIS Combat System has been designed and developed by Turkish Navy Research Center.

With Automatic Target Detection and Tracking System (OTOHETTS), Integrated Automatic Radar Detection, Tracking and Data Fusion System Capability for all existing Surveillance Radars has gained. Threat Evaluation and Weapon Assignment (TEWASA) Capability against all air threats is also gained. TEWASA Function can be used with all air defense weapons.

After the GENESIS modernization programme, G Class Frigates have gained a new capability to visually recognize targets from long ranges with an infrared camera  manifactured by ASELSAN, a Turkish Defence Industry Company.
